CHAPTER NEWS

ATI and STTI Announce New Nursing Research Grant
Assessment Technologies Institute is pleased to announce that they are offering a $4,500 research grant in cooperation with Sigma Theta Tau International. This grant will support research that encourages the appropriate use of a standardized assessment program in a nursing education curriculum.

Possible research areas may include, but are not limited to:

  • Use of formative assessment to drive remediation
  • Use of summative assessment to guide curricular evaluation and revision
  • Timing of assessment administration within a program of study
  • Identification of key markets of at-risk student status

At Your Service: A Century of Caring in Washington State
In April, 2009, the Washington State Nursing Centennial Consortium opened the Washington State History Museum exhibit, "At Your Service: A Century of Caring in Washington State." On Wednesday, April 15, 2009, Psi Chapter-at-Large provided the speaker for the complimentary lecture, "100 Years of Professional Nursing in Washington State." The Washington State History Museum exhibit will run April 11-July 5, 2009. We encourage you to visit this exhibit and celebrate nursing in Washington state!

Applications for STTI Psi Chapter-at-Large Research Grants now being accepted. Grants are worth up to $1,500. The deadlines are December 15 and May 15. Download the application and instructions here.

Our chapter was recently awarded the Regional Excellence Award from Sigma Theta Tau International for "Nurses Shine While Cruising to the Northern Lights."
